Yara is a world leader in the production of nitrogen chemicals. The company, based in Norway, employs 17.000 people in 160 countries. The company was initiating several distinct excellence programs in the area of sales planning, production efficiency and supply chain management. These programs were aimed at standardizing work processes, improve governance, create a culture of excellence, ease integration of new staff, empower people and raise intrinsic motivation. Yara was working on an individual communication framework for each of these initiatives.
When bb&b started working on these separate projects, we noticed that there was a com-mon denominator. We there-fore proposed Yara to develop one single framework, focusing on the notion of excellence. A transversal ”identity” for the program was then created in order to federate different initia-tives, create awareness and impact. The design was aligned on the successful Safe by Choice project. The complementary nature of the two programs thus became evident, emphasizing each an essential aspect of Yara’s work culture: safety and performance.
We branded the project “Team Excellence” with a visual identity closely matching the universe established for Safe by Choice. Training tools, documentation and signage were developed, mainly for production sites in-volved in lean management.
The Team Excellence project has helped creating an excellence culture in production and raise efficiency.
